Cypher is a modern, tech-driven accounting and CFO company providing cloud-based accounting and finance services to startups and growing businesses in the US, the UK, and Canada. Our mission is to empower Founders and CEOs by equipping them with tools and insights for informed decision-making. We are currently seeking an AI & Automation Engineer to build production-grade AI systems that automate our accounting, finance, and operations workflows. This role is crucial for enhancing our service delivery and operational efficiency, offering a transformative impact on our business processes.

• Develop and deploy AI solutions (LLMs, agents, ML, rules-based systems) for finance and accounting use cases • Architect and automate end-to-end workflows across accounting, finance, and internal operations • Integrate AI with accounting systems (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite), CRMs, and internal tools • Build and maintain financial data pipelines and models • Design executive and client-facing dashboards (cash flow, forecasts, KPIs, variance analysis) • Ensure data accuracy, auditability, and explainability of AI outputs • Partner with CPAs, CFOs, and operators to translate financial logic into technical systems

Required qualifications : • Strong experience in AI/ML, LLMs, and automation (Python and/or JavaScript, SQL) • Hands-on workflow design using automation and orchestration tools (or custom systems) • Data modeling and dashboard development experience (BI tools or custom stacks) • Systems thinker with strong documentation and execution skills Nice to have : • Experience working with accounting and finance teams • Understanding of financial statements, close processes, and management reporting • Accounting or finance background (CPA/CFA a plus, not required)
